Easy Pizza Dough

This recipe for pizza dough is super quick and simple. I pretty much use this basic dough recipe for almost all my bread recipes. If I want sweet rolls, savory rolls, sandwich buns, etc etc. I turn to this recipe because it is fool proof!


  • 2 cups lukewarm water

  • 5 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 packet rapidrise yeast


  • Place lukewarm water in the bowl of stand mixer (with dough hook attachment), add yeast and sugar. Let sit 5 minutes.

  • Add flour and salt, mix until all the ingredients are combined. Remove dough hook from dough and place a cotton kitchen towel over bowl. Let dough rise 1 hour, until doubled in size.

  • Once the dough is risen, remove it from the bowl onto a well floured work surface. Form it into a large ball. You should be able to make at least 4 pizzas, maybe even 5 if you like thinner crust. Roll out each piece and put your favorite toppings on it.

You always want to bake pizza HOT, so crank that oven up to almost 500. If you want that perfect crispy crust on the bottom you should put the dough into the fridge over night, or into the freezer for 30 minutes. The colder the dough is, the crispier it will be. It will taste like you cooked it in a brick pizza oven!

  • Basil, fresh tomato, garlic
